President of the European Council Antonio Costa reported on the convening of an extraordinary meeting of EU leaders on March 6, dedicated to issues of long-term security in Ukraine and Europe.
“I decided to convene a special European Council on March 6. We are living in a defining moment for Ukraine and European security. During my consultations with European leaders, I heard a common desire to respond to these challenges at the EU level,” – the message says.
According to him, European leaders are full of desire to strengthen European defense and make a decisive contribution to peace on our continent and long-term security of Ukraine.
“I will continue to work together with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and all member states to be ready for decisions on March 6.” – he emphasized.
