The European Union introduced sanctions against Viktor Medvedchuk, Artem Marchevsky and the Internet portal Voice of Europe

At the request of the Czech Republic, the European Union introduced sanctions against the former People’s Deputy of Ukraine and the godfather of Vladimir Putin Viktor Medvedchuk, as well as the producer Artem Marchevsky and the Russian Internet portal Voice of Europe.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic reported this on the X social network.

All the restrictions that the Czech Republic had previously imposed on them are now in effect in all 27 EU member states.”, – says the message of the Czech Foreign Ministry.

In addition to Medvedchuk, Artem Marchevskyi, the ex-producer of the TV channel “112 Ukraine” was sanctioned.

It is noted that Medvedchuk and Marchevsky, with the help of Voice of Europe, tried to carry out influence operations on the territory of the Czech Republic in the interests of the Kremlin, which, according to the Czech Prime Minister, could harm the security of the country and the EU.

The mirror write, that the influence operation covered six European countries – Germany, France, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Hungary, and its purpose was “to support the candidates needed by the Kremlin in the elections to the European Parliament and propaganda.”
