In Ukraine, the first batch of 1,000 FPV drones was released with 100% Ukrainian components. Vyriy Drone is one of the largest Ukrainian manufacturers of FPV drones presented the first serial batch of drones completely manufactured from localized Ukrainian components.
FPV drones, equipped with a thermal imaging camera, were manufactured by order of the “Army of Drones” project. The cost of one such drone is about 30 thousand hryvnias. As the representatives of the company noted, thanks to the use of Ukrainian components, it was possible to reduce the cost of production to the level of similar models made of Chinese parts.
Vyriy Drone produces some components independently, others with the participation of Ukrainian contractors. In particular, the company localized the production of frames, initiation boards, flight controllers and radio control systems. At the same time, video transmitters are supplied by the Ukrainian company DEC-1, engines by LLC “Realgold”, and cameras by Odd Systems.
The use of Ukrainian components allows more funds to be kept within the country, improves quality control, reduces logistics costs and reduces Ukraine’s dependence on Chinese suppliers.
