Syrskyi to decide on new model of basic training of the Armed Forces in December

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi announced on the launch of a pilot project, which provides for an increase in the duration of basic military training from one to one and a half months, with an updated program that takes into account current needs and challenges. The final decision on the new model of basic military training will be made in December.

Syrsky reported on the holding of a working meeting on improving the training of military personnel, which was attended by representatives of the leadership of the Armed Forces, training centers and combat brigades. He emphasized that high-quality training is the most important prerequisite for saving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.

The meeting discussed the analysis of the training system, the staffing of instructors in training centers, as well as providing the centers with the necessary weapons and equipment. Information was presented about the pilot project, within the framework of which the duration of basic training is increased to one and a half months.

Syrsky noted that the final decision on the new model of basic military training will be made in December, and if the operational situation allows, a further extension of the training period is possible. He also noted the successes of the Airborne Assault Forces in the training of personnel, calling for the implementation of their approaches in other units as well.

In four key training centers of the Armed Forces, training under the new program has already started, involving almost 500 recruits. The main goal is to improve the quality of training of the Ukrainian military.
