The G7 increases the pressure on Russia: limiting oil prices, sanctions and blocking energy projects

The leaders of the “Group of Seven” (G7) at the summit in Italy announced the tightening of price restrictions on Russian oil and oil products. In addition, they promise to take measures to block Russia’s future energy projects and reduce its revenues from metals.
About this writes Bloomberg with reference to the statement that is at the disposal of the publication and which is to be published today.
“We will continue to put significant pressure on Russian revenues from energy and other goods,” the statement said.
The G7 intends to fight Russia’s “shadow fleet” that helps Moscow circumvent sanctions. For this, sanctions and “innovative actions” will be applied, aimed at certain geographical regions where Russian oil is transshipped.
The G7 leaders also promised to hinder the development of new energy projects in Russia and limit its access to the goods and services necessary for the implementation of these projects.
It is noted that these measures are aimed at reducing Russia’s income from the export of energy and metals, which is an important source of funding for its military aggression.
