Poland has produced a missile that surpasses the American HIMARS

Poland successfully tested the CGR-080 guided missile launched from the Homar-K multiple rocket launcher system. As informs Army Recognition, this launch demonstrates the new capabilities of the Polish defense industry. The missile has a range of up to 80 km, which exceeds the characteristics of the American HIMARS system.

The Homar-K is an adaptation of the South Korean K239 Chunmoo system integrated with the Polish Jelcz 8×8 chassis. The system combines South Korean technologies and Polish engineering solutions. Its main advantage is modularity, which allows the use of a variety of ammunition, including guided and unguided missiles.

The CGR-080 missile is equipped with a GPS/INS precision guidance system that provides a circular error probability (CEP) of only 15 meters. Its high-explosive warhead effectively destroys manpower, lightly armored vehicles and infrastructure facilities.

Earlier it became known that at the beginning of next year, Germany may redeploy Patriot air defense systems to Poland. Poland also plans to develop a Baltic Sea maritime patrol program similar to NATO’s air monitoring mission.
