The government has increased payments for the children of dead volunteers

Since last month, the amount of targeted assistance to the children of the deceased volunteer defenders who were not part of the voluntary formations of territorial communities (DFTG) has been increased. Payments are recalculated automatically, so mothers or guardians of children do not need to go anywhere.
How much will the state pay the children of volunteers now?
Previously, payments for children of volunteers who did not have time to enter the DFTG and died defending the Motherland were smaller than benefits for children of combatants. However, in April, the government corrected the legal conflict and made the payments equal.
Now the amount of financial aid for one child of a deceased volunteer is 7,800 hryvnias. If the defender has two or more children left, then UAH 6,100 per month is charged for each child.
Before the changes approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, children of volunteers received UAH 2,361 per month.
Important details for payees
Children of volunteers can receive social benefits in the amount equivalent to the amount of assistance received by the children of the fallen Defenders of Ukraine, if the deceased father or mother had the required amount of insurance experience. If the insurance experience of the parents at the time of death was not enough, then the daughters and sons of volunteers receive another payment – state social assistance.
As a reminder, children of military personnel who have the status of a participant in hostilities can use social benefits, the list of which includes free health care, study at universities and free accommodation in student dormitories, free travel in public transport, etc. Read more about it here.
