The Ministry of Education and Science launches a large-scale all-Ukrainian survey of students in grades 5-11 in order to find out their needs

In the conditions of the war, Ukrainian schoolchildren face many difficulties in their studies. Constant air raids force children to spend a significant part of their school time in bomb shelters. Frequent shelling, lack of electricity and communication, as well as psychological stress significantly affect the educational process. Many students are forced to master the material in extreme conditions, which complicates their ability to learn new knowledge. Despite these difficulties, the country’s educational system is adapting to new challenges, introducing modern teaching methods and involving innovative approaches.
In this context, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine initiated a large-scale nationwide survey among students of grades 5-11. The research is conducted in partnership with U-Report and aims to identify the real educational needs of schoolchildren. This initiative is aimed at creating a high-quality and modern education system that will meet the realities of wartime.
The survey is part of the comprehensive “Education for Life” policy, which continues the “New Ukrainian School” reform. The main goal of this study is to overcome the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills that children need in today’s world. In addition, the obtained results will allow taking into account the wishes of students regarding the improvement of the educational process, its content and organization.
Schoolchildren can take part in the survey on the U-Report platform by following the link: https://linktr.ee/ureport.ua. By answering questions, children can express their opinions and influence the future format of education in Ukraine.
The survey covers the following key aspects of the educational process:
- the content of educational programs, their relevance and correspondence to the real needs of students;
- selection of textbook formats and educational materials, their convenience and availability;
- arrangement of educational spaces: creation of modern laboratories, workshops, art studios, etc.
The results of the research will help educators and government agencies to develop effective learning strategies that will meet modern challenges. During the war, it is important not only to preserve the educational process, but also to make it as effective and adaptive as possible to the conditions in which the students find themselves.
This initiative is an important step in the reform of Ukrainian education, because the opinion of schoolchildren themselves plays a key role in the formation of future educational standards. The Ministry of Education calls on all students of grades 5-11 to participate in the survey, because it is their voice that can affect changes in the education system.
