The head of a chemical plant in Cherkasy was suspected of cooperation with the Russian Federation

The Security Service of Ukraine reported the suspicion to the head of the chemical plant in Cherkasy. The figure is accused of violating sanctions related to the export of Ukrainian products to Russia. About this reported SBU press office.

“The Security Service eliminated another scheme to circumvent sanctions on the export of Ukrainian products to the Russian Federation. As a result of comprehensive measures for cooperation with the aggressor country, the management of a chemical enterprise in Cherkasy was exposed. According to the investigation, representatives of the Ukrainian chemical plant arranged wholesale supplies of fertilizers and minerals for the agricultural industry of the Russian Federation., the message says.

It was found that in the period from 2022 to 2024, entrepreneurs illegally exported their products to Russia for a total of 1.8 million US dollars. They used a related company located in the Middle East to covertly supply Ukrainian goods to the Russian Federation.

It is documented that the products of the Cherkasy enterprise were first sent to a Middle Eastern “intermediary”, and from there were transported to Russia. Among the main Russian clients were the leading companies of the agro-industrial sector of the aggressor country – “Schyolkovo Agrochem” and “Alterit”.

During searches of the places of work and residence of the persons involved, documents, mobile phones and computer equipment containing evidence of illegal activities were seized. Investigators of the SBU announced that the head of the Cherkasy enterprise was under suspicion for h. 1 Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assistance to the aggressor state).

An investigation is ongoing aimed at bringing to justice all those involved in this scheme. Perpetrators face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
