The Kremlin said that Putin met with Witkoff and transmitted “signals” to Trump

Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov said that the night before, Vladimir Putin received Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, through whom “additional signals” were sent to the US president. This is reported by rosZMI.
Witkoff arrived in Moscow on the morning of March 13, two days after talks between Ukraine and the US in Jeddah, during which Kyiv agreed to a 30-day ceasefire.
“He (Witkoff) was here yesterday, he was received by President Putin late yesterday evening. Additional information was provided to the Russian side. And also, actually, through Witkoff, Putin transmitted information and additional signals to President Trump.” Peskov noted.
According to him, the “cautious optimism” of the USA regarding the settlement of the war in Ukraine is justified. At the same time, commenting on the upcoming conversation between Putin and Trump, he said that the exact time of the talks has not yet been agreed upon.
“After Mr. Witkoff brings all the information to his head of state, only then will we decide on the terms of the conversation. There is an understanding that such a conversation is needed from both sides.” – explained Peskov.
Negotiations between Putin and Witkoff took place in a closed format. Trump’s special envoy’s plane left Moscow on the morning of March 14.
