The military will have priority dates for marriage online in Diia thanks to Army+

Soon, servicemen will be able to book a priority date and time for marriage online in the Diya application through the Army+ platform. The Cabinet of Ministers has already adopted the corresponding changes to the resolution on the state registration of marriage in electronic form, informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The possibility to submit an application for marriage registration through “Diya” appeared as early as last year. Since then, the service has been used by 4,000 couples, and more than 19,000 applications have been submitted in total. The Ministry of Defense explains that many servicemen are unable to take leave to get married, so it is important to ensure they can register their marriage quickly and without a long wait.
“For the past few months, users have been asking us to create such an opportunity. And we are responding to this request. Together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, we have initiated changes that will allow the military to reserve a priority time and date for marriage registration,” — said Kateryna Chernogorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digitalization.
To use the new function, a serviceman must apply through “Army+”. The initiator of the marriage registration must necessarily be the military. After confirmation by DRATS, the user will receive a message with the details of the online ceremony in the Diya application.
The service is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, DRATSS and the State Enterprise “National Information Systems” with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, which is implemented by the Eastern Europe Fund. Technical support was provided by the Cisco company, which provided Cisco Webex video communication solutions within the framework of cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Affairs.
