The Ministry of Defense announced the dismissal of Bezrukova from the post of director of the AOZ
On January 31, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine decided to dismiss Maryna Bezrukova from the position of director of the Defense Procurement Agency (AOD) and appoint Arsen Zhumadilov in her place. He will combine this position with the leadership of the State Rear Operator. About this reported press service of the department.
“Among the key reasons for the change of the head of the AOZ is the failure to fulfill the planned supplies for the front, the numerous remarks of the General Staff regarding the low-quality planning of defense purchases and untimely communication on the part of the Agency, the unjustified postponement of supply schedules. The numerous leaks of classified information that will become a separate subject of consideration by law enforcement agencies are absolutely unacceptable.”, says the message.
The Ministry of Defense also stated that the decision of the Supervisory Board of AOZ to extend the contract with Bezrukova contained procedural violations and did not comply with the principles of transparency and consistency. In addition, after the resignation of one of the independent members of the council and the recall of state representatives, the body lost its authority.
“According to the legislation, in case of incompetence of the Supervisory Board, its powers are temporarily transferred to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This gives the Ministry of Defense the right to make decisions regarding the management of the Agency, in particular, regarding the appointment, dismissal and suspension of the director, as well as the appointment of a temporary acting director.” – noted in the department.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense turned to law enforcement agencies for an investigation and legal assessment of the actions of the former management of AOZ.
