The Ministry of Defense has introduced a catalog of typical defects in the property of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Ministry of Defense of Ukraine introduced a new material quality control tool for the Armed Forces — a catalog of typical material defects. This step is aimed at strengthening requirements for suppliers, ensuring transparency of product acceptance procedures, and unifying methods for assessing its quality.

The catalog is available both digitally and in print. It collects the most common defects found during product inspections since 2022, in particular in fabrics, personal protective equipment, shoes and other components of physical support.

“This tool allows us to increase the requirements for suppliers, make the acceptance of property more transparent, and the quality of physical support even higher. The armed forces should receive only the best.” – emphasized the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk.

The catalog will serve as a common platform for interaction with suppliers, allowing to record and classify identified deficiencies. This will ensure a unified approach to quality control regardless of location or division.

“Given that the acceptance of material property is carried out in different places and by different specialists, we needed uniform standards. The catalog allows the Territorial Quality Control Centers to work in a coordinated manner, regardless of the region or type of property”, – noted the head of the Central Department of Quality Control Ihor Leshchenko.

The development and implementation of this document is an important step for strengthening the institutional capacity of the material support system of the Armed Forces and guarantees that the Ukrainian military will receive high-quality equipment that is reliable and safe to use.
