The Ministry of Defense has joined the update of NATO standards for military education and training

Ministry of Defense of Ukraine joined to updating NATO standards in the field of education and training. This happened during a meeting of the Learning and Technology Interoperability Group held in Halmstad, Sweden.
During the event, the Ukrainian delegation presented the results of the transformation of the military education system and the procedure for its institutional audit.
“We were able not only to present our achievements in the transformation of the military education system, but also to make our own contribution to the discussion regarding the improvement of the NATO standard ‘Education and training’, according to which our system is also developing.” – noted the director of the Department of Military Education and Science, Volodymyr Mirnenko, who headed the Ukrainian delegation.
Also during the meeting, a plan for certification of professional military education courses in accordance with NATO standards was presented — it is planned for 2026. In addition, the Ukrainian side familiarized the participants with the Policy of the Ministry of Defense on ensuring the quality of professional military education, which received favorable reviews from representatives of the member states of the Alliance.
According to Mirnenko, foreign colleagues expressed hope that the combination of Ukrainian experience in war conditions with NATO recommendations will contribute to the further openness of Ukrainian military education to innovations and changes.
