The Ministry of Defense has prepared a guide for servicemen released from captivity

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in cooperation with the Central Directorate of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine prepared a handbook for servicemen who have returned from captivity.

The brochure systematizes information in four key areas: psychological support, restoration of documents, processing of payments and access to medical care. The materials contain step-by-step instructions that allow you to navigate the algorithms for restoring cash payments and documents, renewing social guarantees, as well as obtaining legal, medical, and psychological services.

“We have developed visual cards that will help a person released from captivity receive step-by-step instructions during reintegration activities. Detailed and understandable information explains how to undergo a physical examination and treatment, renew payments and receive social support. The directory also contains contacts of volunteer and public organizations that provide legal, medical and psychological assistance. The brochure will also be useful for representatives of escort services who constantly accompany former prisoners on the way to their return to normal life”, – said the head of the Central Department of Civil-Military Cooperation, Colonel Oleksandr Kutkov.

The printed version of the guide is planned to be distributed among military personnel immediately after their release from captivity.

We remind you that on May 25, the third stage of the exchange took place in the “1000 for 1000” format, during which Ukraine returned another 303 defenders from Russian captivity. On May 24, 307 Ukrainian servicemen returned to their homeland — this was the second stage of the exchange. The first stage of the exchange took place on May 23: then it was possible to free 390 Ukrainians, of whom 270 were military personnel and 120 were civilians.
