Ukraine received the second tranche from Britain at the expense of frozen assets of the Russian Federation

Ukraine received the second tranche of financial assistance from Great Britain in the amount of 752 million pounds sterling (almost 1 billion US dollars). About this informs Ministry of Finance.

The funds were provided as part of the G7 ERA initiative, which provides for the use of profits from frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine.

The first tranche in the same amount arrived on March 7, 2025. This brings the total amount of funding raised to date to £1.5 billion. Financing is provided for a 30-year term, and the loan will be repaid with future revenues from the frozen sovereign assets of the Russian Federation.

We will remind that on March 1, 2025, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, and the Head of the Treasury of Great Britain, Rachel Reeves, signed an agreement to provide Ukraine with financial support in the total amount of 2.26 billion pounds (about 3 billion US dollars) in order to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.

The assistance from Great Britain is part of a broader decision of the G7 countries to implement the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration Loans for Ukraine mechanism, which is provided for up to 50 billion dollars.
