The Ministry of Defense received criteria for auditing the military education system from NATO

Ministry of Defense of Ukraine received from NATO experts a complete set of compliance and evaluation criteria that will be used during the institutional audit of the military education system.
The audit started in May and will continue until the end of 2025. NATO criteria include checking the compatibility of Ukrainian military education with Alliance standards, the effectiveness of training programs and the professional level of the teaching staff.
The audit process will consist of several stages and is financed by partners from Lithuania. First of all, in May, military educational institutions prepare self-assessment reports and fill out special questionnaires regarding compliance with NATO criteria. Then, from June to September, the Alliance’s expert group will study the materials provided, after which it will come to Ukraine for meetings with representatives of educational institutions. The final step will be the final audit report, which is scheduled to be published in December 2025.
The documents cover the topics of the compliance of educational programs with NATO standards, the effectiveness of teaching methods, the relevance of disciplines for the needs of the service, as well as the level of training of teachers. In addition, management processes, the quality of knowledge control, the use of modern technologies in education, as well as compliance with the principles of civil control and democratic governance will be evaluated.
“Successful passing of the institutional audit will allow Ukraine to submit an application for certification of professional military education courses. This opens up opportunities to involve servicemen of NATO partner states in training in Ukraine.”, – emphasized the director of the Department of Military Education and Science of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Volodymyr Mirnenko.
