Mannequins produced by the international medical company Laerdal from Norway are distinguished by realism and interactivity. They weigh 80 kg, can “bleed”, scream, moan, and also imitate tremors and other reactions of the human body during traumatic situations. They are designed to create the most realistic conditions so that the military can train to provide assistance in extreme conditions.

“Ukraine has purchased five trauma dummies for 100,000 euros each, with which it is possible to practice first aid situations on the battlefield as realistically as possible. Anyone who has encountered screams and blood splatter on a mannequin, I hope will be able to cope better in an emergency situation and keep cool when rescuing the wounded”, – noted the instructor of the Bundeswehr Olena.

The German general of the medical service, Jürgen Meyer, explained that blood loss is one of the main causes of death on the battlefield. That is why timely provision of first aid in the first minutes after injury is critically important.

By the end of the year, it is planned to train about 20,000 Ukrainian military personnel on various courses in Germany, of which several hundred will become certified first aid specialists at the front (Combat Medic).
