The Ministry of Defense will purchase trial batches of property in a new camouflage pattern

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, responding to the request of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and numerous appeals by servicemen, approved samples of the new additional camouflage pattern MM-25. It will be used for the production of tangible property. Now announced purchase of a trial batch of products in new color patterns.
So far, there are no plans to completely replace the current MM-14 (“pixel”) camouflage with MM-25. The new pattern is considered as an alternative option along with the allowed “olive”, “coyote” and MM-16F.
The Central Directorate for the Development of Material Support (CSURMZ) has already approved the updated Technical Specification A01XJ.29979-539:2025 (02) “Cotton and mixed fabrics”, which now includes MM-25. As of now, more than ten appeals from manufacturers have been received by the CURMZ with a request to get acquainted with the new camouflage and color palette.
“The decision to approve the new camouflage pattern is due to numerous appeals from military personnel who perform combat tasks and already use a similar pattern. At the moment, the only option for them was to purchase such equipment at their own expense. Our task is to provide the military with the necessary equipment and equipment, as well as to create conditions so that Ukrainian manufacturers can officially provide the army with the necessary tangible property.”, – noted the head of the Central Military District, Lt. Col. Maksym Kayola.
The introduction of the MM-25 should increase the flexibility of the material support of the army and will open new opportunities for manufacturers who already have the technology to work with similar color patterns.
The procurement agency of the Ministry of Defense “DOT” has announced the first tenders for the purchase of trial lots of tangible property with new camouflage. 20,000 units are scheduled to be delivered in 2025, which will allow testing production capabilities and gradually integrate the new pattern into the supply system.
“We understand that the new requirements for physical support are a challenge for both the customer and manufacturers. After receiving a request from the military, we initiated procurement for five items that fall under these updated standards. Our goal is for the military to receive clothing that meets their real needs, and for manufacturers to be able to fulfill these orders with quality.”, – explained the director of the tangible property program of the DOT, Mykyta Chichkan.
