The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BEB) exposed an organized group that established the illegal production of perfume and cosmetic products of well-known global brands in the Kharkiv, Kyiv and Poltava regions. About this informs BEB press office.
The facts of violation of intellectual property rights were established, which caused material losses to international companies in particularly large amounts. During the pre-trial investigation, it became clear that counterfeit products were sold through websites and retail outlets, and delivery was made by postal services.
“Law enforcement officers conducted test purchases of samples of such products and research, which confirmed that the perfumes and cosmetics are fake, of low quality, and the labeling and packaging of the products do not meet the standards of the companies.” – the message says.
As a result of 11 searches in warehouses in Poltava and Kharkiv, as well as in places of illegal activities and residences of the persons involved, detectives seized more than 10,000 units of finished products – perfumes, as well as about 30 tons of goods and material values, including ingredients of dubious quality, plastic containers with chemicals, bottles, etc.
The pre-trial investigation continues within the framework of criminal proceedings under Part 3 Art. 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal use of signs for goods and company name).
