The Ministry of Digital Transformation has officially launched e-residency for foreign citizens

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has launched the uResidency service, which allows foreigners to register a business in Ukraine quickly and without unnecessary bureaucracy. About this reported Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

According to him, the registration process takes only 5 minutes, and the tax rate for e-residents is only 5%. All operations – from reporting to paying taxes – are automated, which minimizes the need for interaction with government institutions.

At the first stage, the uResidency program is open to citizens of India, Pakistan, Thailand and Slovenia. The Ministry plans to attract about 1,000 e-residents, and in the future to expand access for citizens of other countries. Fedorov noted that the first users have already opened accounts in Ukrainian banks and are satisfied with the result.

To become an e-resident, it is enough to apply through the application or on the uResidency portal. The procedure takes 5-10 minutes. After checking the data, an electronic signature (KEP) is issued at the consulate without the need to visit Ukraine. Then the e-resident can open a FOP online, and all further operations will be carried out automatically.

Fedorov added that the system fully automates tax reporting: the bank independently calculates and pays taxes, submits declarations, saving residents from the need to contact accountants or lawyers.

“No physical interaction with institutions. Everything happens automatically, without human intervention. No costs for an accountant or a lawyer, the system does all their work, and the resident just does his own business”, – assured the head of the department.
