The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine is creating a coordination platform to promote the development of innovations in the field of humanitarian demining. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Economy.
The main task of the platform will be the development, testing and implementation of innovative solutions to accelerate humanitarian demining. Research and engineering developments, practical experience of Ukrainian sappers and international expertise will be involved in the project. Such cooperation will make it possible to develop effective methods of cleaning territories contaminated by mines and other explosive objects.
In addition, the initiative envisages attracting investments and resources of international partners to expand innovative developments and launch production. The platform will test and improve the latest technologies, including autonomous robotic systems, drones, multi-sensor platforms and GNP detection systems based on artificial intelligence.
The ministry also reported that the creation of a state analytical center in accordance with IMAS standards is underway, which will be a key element for the systematic introduction of innovations in the field of humanitarian demining.
“Our goal is not just to generate new technologies, but to integrate them into real operations. Through cooperation with universities and research centers, we will accelerate the path from development to practical application, so that effective solutions start working in the field as soon as possible.” – emphasized Kateryna Drozd, project manager for innovations of the Mine Action Support Team at the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
