Zelenskyy imposes sanctions on traitors and Russia’s defense sector

On October 8, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed decrees on the introduction of two new sanctions packages approved by the National Security and Defense Council. Sanctions are directed both against individuals who betrayed Ukraine and against enterprises that provide military production in Russia.

This is what Zelenskyi said reported during his evening address to the nation, stressing that Ukraine’s sanctions will be synchronized with restrictions already introduced by Western partners.

“We continue our sanctions work. Two new packages of sanctions were applied today. Regarding those who betrayed Ukraine. And also regarding military production in Russia – those legal entities and individuals who work for terror.”, – emphasized the president.

Zelenskyi also expressed his gratitude to everyone who supports Ukraine in this difficult time. He especially noted the contribution of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians who are making maximum efforts to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.

Both sanction decrees have already been published. The first of them covers 54 Russian companies and 3 Chinese firms, including such giants as Rostec, Morspectechnika CJSC, Moscow Arms Company LLC, and AVISMA Corporation, one of the world’s largest titanium producers.

The second decree contains two lists of sanctioned natural persons. They include citizens of Russia, Ukraine and Cyprus, whom the president called “traitors” for their cooperation with the enemy.
