The Ministry of Finance denied information about the lack of funds for payments to the military

On April 8, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine denied rumors about the lack of funds for payments to the military. The information spread by some media about the alleged threat of non-payment of servicemen does not correspond to reality, stated in the Ministry of Finance.

The department assured that the Ukrainian military receives financial support according to the plan, and this practice will be maintained in the future. As the Ministry of Finance emphasized, during more than three years of full-scale war, all payments to military personnel are made on time and in full.

“It will be the same in the future! Defenders of Ukraine receive and will receive financial support according to the plan. Funds for this are provided for in the state budget of Ukraine for 2025.” – says the message of the ministry.

At the same time, the Ministry of Finance emphasized once again that the information about the threat of non-payment does not correspond to reality. One of the key sources of support is the program Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine (ERA), which provides Ukraine with financing from the G7 countries in the total amount of 50 billion dollars. Repayment of these funds should take place at the expense of revenues from the use of frozen Russian assets.

It is planned that $20 billion will come from the United States, another $20 billion from the European Union, $3 billion from Great Britain, $3.7 billion from Canada, and $3 billion from Japan. The peculiarity of this program is the possibility of directing part of the funds, in particular from the EU and Great Britain, directly to defense needs.

We will remind you that earlier some mass media published a material in which it was claimed that the government should increase defense expenditures by 200 billion hryvnias, otherwise the military may be left without financial support by the end of the year. Instead, the budget for 2025 already provides for more than 2.2 trillion hryvnias to finance the Defense Forces.
