The Ministry of Foreign Affairs talked about preparations for the Peace Summit and diplomatic relations with Iran

As part of preparations for the second Global Peace Summit, Ukraine held several important thematic conferences together with international partners. These meetings took place at the level of national security advisers and ministers and focused on key issues of energy and food security. About this reported Heorhiy Tyhiy, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, during a press conference.
According to Tykhi, the organization of working groups to discuss the points of the Ukrainian peace formula is currently underway. In addition, thematic meetings are held with international partners aimed at creating joint action plans. These plans will help shape the general position of the international community regarding the cessation of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
“Within these meetings, appropriate plans are developed on specific issues that will generally form what is called a common framework, that is, the position of the international community regarding the end of Russian aggression against Ukraine.”, – added Tychy.
In the near future, it is planned to hold similar meetings to discuss other aspects of the peace formula, with the aim of creating a general plan for achieving peace, which is actively promoted by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
Tychy emphasized the importance of forming a collective international position on conflict resolution, stressing that this is one of the main prerequisites for holding the second Global Peace Summit. Kyiv wants this position to be supported not only by Ukraine, but also by the wider international community.
In addition, Tykhi touched on the issue of Ukraine’s relations with Iran. He noted that Ukraine may break diplomatic relations with this country if the fact of Iran’s supply of ballistic missiles to Russia is confirmed. On September 9, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the temporary charge d’affaires of Iran, who was made clear that such supplies would have serious consequences for bilateral relations.
“I will not specify what exactly is meant by destructive consequences, so as not to weaken the diplomatic position. But all options, including the one you mentioned (severing of diplomatic relations), are on the table. If this transfer really took place and the fact of application is recorded “, he added.
