Ukraine declares Day of Mourning for the victims of the attack on Kryvyi Rih

On Sunday, April 6, a day of mourning will be declared throughout Ukraine in memory of those killed during the Russian shelling of Kryvyi Rih. State flags will be lowered in cities and villages, and silence will envelop the streets.

About this reported Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba in his address in Telegram. He emphasized that on this day, the entire country — from large metropolises to the smallest communities — expresses support for the residents of Kryvyi Rih and the families of the victims.

“From Kyiv to Odesa, from Kramatorsk to Uzhhorod – the flags will be at half mast. This is how Ukrainian communities honor the memory of the victims of the tragedy.” – said the minister.

We will remind, on the evening of April 4, the Russian army struck a residential area in Kryvyi Rih. A ballistic missile was used, and later that evening, Shahed drones. As a result of the shelling, at least 19 people died, including nine children. Another 74 people were injured, dozens of them in serious condition. 38 victims are in the city’s hospitals.

Kuleba noted that these attacks once again prove that Russia is waging war not only against the army, but also against the civilian population, targeting homes, hospitals, and playgrounds.

“Russia is at war with Ukrainian cities, residential buildings, hospitals and playgrounds. Destroys destinies, takes lives, kills children.” – said the government official.

April 7, 8, and 9 have been declared days of mourning in Kryvyi Rih itself. As of April 5, the number of people injured in shelling has increased to 74.
