The Ministry of Health has approved a new group of protocols for the treatment of combat injuries

The Ministry of Health has approved a new group of clinical protocols in the field of “combat trauma”, which are mandatory for use by doctors both at the pre-hospital and hospital stages. About this informs press service of the department.

First Deputy Minister of Health Serhiy Dubrov explained that these protocols will allow medics to quickly, correctly and effectively provide assistance to both civilians and military personnel with injuries.

The new clinical protocols are a translation of the recommendations of countries with a high level of economic development. For the treatment of combat injuries, the “Joint Trauma System” system, which is used in NATO countries and is aimed at reducing mortality and increasing the chances of survival of patients in wartime, was taken as a basis.

“What is important about the “Joint Trauma System” is that international experts meet every week, discuss all new publications, experience, including Ukrainian, to update, revise or create new recommendations, which are accepted or rejected by the commission.” – emphasized the first deputy minister.

Translation and processing of clinical protocols is carried out by a multidisciplinary group, which includes specialists from various medical fields, including combat medics, anesthesiologists and neurosurgeons.
