The NBU revoked the license of a network of currency exchangers due to a bad reputation

The National Bank of Ukraine revoked the license for the exchange of cash currency issued by Express Currency Exchange Group LLC. About this reported NBU press office.

The decision to cancel the license was made because the company and its owner have signs of an impeccable business reputation, which does not meet the requirements for financial market participants.

The Committee on Supervision and Regulation of Nonbank Financial Services Markets adopted this decision on August 19, 2024, and it will enter into force on August 20, 2024.

Express Currency Exchange Group LLC was registered in the Kyiv region in May 2019, according to YouControl. The company is owned by Artem Shishenka and Oleg Korotenka, each of whom owns 50% of the authorized capital.

As of August 1, 2024, the company had two currency exchange points in the Kyiv region and one in Lviv.

Previously, the NBU also canceled the licenses of other companies, in particular Artem Financial Company LLC and Odesa Finod LLC, which had a significant number of exchange points in Ukraine.

Note that in July 2024, the number of non-bank financial market participants decreased from 990 to 963, while the number of banks remained unchanged at 62.
