Ukrainians spend the most on food, non-food goods and services
The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine made public data regarding the minimum expenses of working Ukrainians. They include communication costs, food and other basic needs.
Communication and food expenses
According to calculations, Ukrainians spend 67 hryvnias per month on communications, and 3,724.75 hryvnias on food.
Other basic needs
UAH 1,196.57 per month is spent on other needs not related to food.
Cost of living
The Ministry determined the actual size of the subsistence minimum, which in June 2024 was 7,064.62 hryvnias per person. Taking into account mandatory payments, this amount increases to 8,089.28 hryvnias. The data covers different social and demographic groups.

The main expenses of a working Ukrainian per month are as follows:

- Non-food products – UAH 1,196.57

In general, a working Ukrainian spends about 1,210 hryvnias per month on communal services, and 246 hryvnias on cultural services and mobile communication.
