The National Bank has not extended the limits on card transfers

The National Bank of Ukraine decided not to extend the limit on transfers between individuals within the same bank, which provided for a limit of 150,000 hryvnias per month. This restriction was introduced in October 2024. About this reported NBU press office.
“On April 1, the National Bank of Ukraine decided not to extend the regulatory restrictions in the amount of UAH 150,000 per month for outgoing transfers (also known as P2P, C2C) for all accounts of individual clients opened in one bank to the accounts of other individuals.” – says the message.
The limit applied to all accounts of individuals in one bank and included transfers between citizens. According to the regulator, the introduced measures made it possible to curb the “abnormal surge” in the volume of transfers and stop the growth in the number of new payment cards, which was recorded in September-October last year.
Within the framework of the new regulatory framework, the NBU expanded its powers to regulate the financial services market and increased fines for violations of payment legislation. In addition, the Memorandum on the transparency of the payment services market was signed, to which most banks and licensed payment service providers joined.
The National Bank continues to improve the payment transaction monitoring system in cooperation with law enforcement agencies to combat financial crimes. In particular, the Bureau of Economic Security exposed a network that included more than 4,000 droppers.
In addition, the NBU developed the concept of creating a register of persons in need of enhanced control. It will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration in April.
