“National cashback” is planned to be extended to the purchase of books

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy (MKIP) in cooperation with the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Humanitarian and Information Policy and the Ukrainian Book Institute (UIK) propose to expand the “National Cashback” program for the purchase of books and bookstore services. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Culture.

It is noted that currently the list of goods and services to which cashback applies does not include books and services of distributors of book products. At the same time, it is also impossible to use cashback to purchase ready-made books.

For this reason, the ICIP, the Committee of the Council and the UIC appealed to the Ministry of Economy with a proposal to amend the basic regulation by including in the list of IAS codes related to book products.

The Ministry of Culture emphasizes that supporting Ukrainian book distributors through the “National Cashback” program is an important step in the direction of state support for Ukrainian cultural products.

It was also recalled the successful experience of the “eSupport” program, in which, from December 2021 to February 2022, almost 9 million Ukrainians spent 3.4 billion hryvnias, a significant part of which went to purchase books.

About the “National Cashback” program

The “National Cashback” program started on September 2, 2024 and provides compensation for 10% of the costs of domestically produced goods. It is currently in beta testing mode, which will last about a month. The maximum amount of cashback is 3 thousand hryvnias per month, and you can get it for purchases of Ukrainian goods, with the exception of excisable products, honey drinks and medicines.
