The National Bank of Ukraine has put into circulation a commemorative coin with a denomination of 5 hryvnias, dedicated to Ukrainian weapons and their creators. The third coin of the series was named “Ukrainian cotton. BTR-4E “Bucephal”. About it reported NBU press office.
BTR-4E “Bucephal” is an armored combat vehicle, characterized by a high level of protection, powerful weapons and excellent mobility. Its history begins in 2003, when Ukrainian designers set themselves the ambitious goal of creating a new generation armored personnel carrier. Today, “Bucephal” is actively used by the Defense Forces of Ukraine in military operations, protecting the independence of the state.
The design of the coin reflects the strength and invincibility of Ukrainian weapons. The obverse depicts a stylized saddled horse modeled from armored plates. The NBU explains that this image is associated with the legendary Bucephalus of Alexander the Great and symbolizes loyalty, fearlessness and the will to victory.
The reverse shows the BTR-4E during firing from the combat module. The inscription “BTR-4” is located in the upper part. It is made in the style of riveted plates, which reproduces the strength and reliability of the armored vehicle.
The coin is made of nickel silver, its face value is 5 hryvnias, and the circulation is limited to 75,000 pieces in a souvenir package. It will be possible to purchase the coin “Ukrainian cotton.
