A collection of 11 exclusive watches that belonged to legendary Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone has sold at Sotheby’s auction for an impressive $6.7 million, surpassing initial expectations.

About this informs Daily Caller.

Among the star lots of the auction, the Patek Philippe Reference 6300G-010 Grandmaster Chime watch, which was sold for a record $5.4 million, stood out. The event set a new world record for a contemporary watch sold at Sotheby’s auction, surpassing the previous record of $4.5 million set by the Richard Mille Reference RM53−02 in October 2023.

The Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime is considered to be one of the most complicated and desirable limited edition watches in the world. Its unique design, exquisite materials and 20 complications, including a grand and small battle, a perpetual calendar and other functions, make it a true masterpiece of watchmaking.

In addition to Patek Philippe, Stallone’s collection included other rare models from top Swiss brands such as Richard Mille, Rolex and Panerai. Some of these watches were associated with the actor’s film career, which gave them a special value for collectors.

The auction caused a real stir among watch connoisseurs and Stallone fans, gathering more than 200 participants from different parts of the world. Many of them were present in person to feel the atmosphere of the auction and witness the historic event.
