The Netherlands will contribute €65 million to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine

The Government of the Netherlands has decided to provide 65 million euros to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine. It became is known during the meeting of the Deputy Minister of Energy, Roman Andarak, with the special representative of the Dutch government, Erika Scholten.

“This is a significant support for us, and it will be an important contribution to the repair campaign that is already underway in preparation for the next heating season. Thanks to these funds, we will be able to partially cover urgent needs. Stable energy supply is a condition for the functioning of the economy, critical infrastructure, social and other spheres of life in Ukraine. We are sincerely grateful for this help”Andarak noted.

In response, the representative of the Netherlands emphasized that energy will remain one of the key areas of assistance to Ukraine from her country.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the equipment needs of the Ukrainian fuel and energy sector, in particular for the gas extraction industry, which has recently been regularly suffering from Russian attacks. It was agreed to work out the possibilities of cooperation in this direction in more detail.

We will remind that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Ukraine has already received 211 shipments of energy equipment from the Netherlands with a total weight of almost 3,000 tons. Among the items transferred are transformers, generators, a mobile gas power plant, cables, fittings for overhead lines and other necessary equipment for repair and restoration works.
