Ukraine shortens deadlines for reporting to military registration and enlistment offices on mobilisation calls

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made significant changes to the procedure for conscription for military service during mobilization, shortening the deadlines for reporting to territorial recruitment centers (TCC). According to information, published on the Government portal, these changes are officially confirmed by Resolution No. 1134 dated October 1, 2024 and are designed to speed up mobilization processes in the conditions of a special period.
From now on, conscripts living in the administrative centers of regions must report to the TCC within seven days, while for residents of other settlements, this period has been reduced to ten days. Previously, it took at least 14 days. These changes reflect the need for more prompt execution of mobilization tasks in the face of a growing threat to national security.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that significantly simplifies the process of volunteer mobilization. Now the commanders of military units have the right to independently call up reservists and conscripts who have expressed a desire to serve. This solution, developed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, allows volunteers to choose the military unit where they want to serve, bypassing territorial recruiting centers. Commanders will have the authority to refer such candidates to a medical board and form combat units from the most motivated individuals. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will compile a list of units to which volunteers will be able to join.
It was previously reported that the Ministry of Defense also plans to introduce new rules for military registration, in particular, the possibility of electronic registration through the “Reserve+” system, as well as increased fines for violations of the military registration procedure.
