The President of the Czech Republic initiates the creation of a new international coalition to establish peace in Ukraine

The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, took the initiative to create a new international coalition that would focus on establishing a just peace in Ukraine. His statement was made against the background of worsening relations between Kyiv and Washington after Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s tense meeting with Donald Trump.
In his post on the X platform, Peter Pavel emphasized, that the “peace” imposed by the aggressor is actually a capitulation that will only stimulate future wars.
“It’s time to start considering a broad coalition of those who want a just peace in Ukraine. “Peace” on the aggressor’s terms is called surrender and will only embolden all current and future aggressors. The free world must stand up to evil.” – wrote Pavel.
The Czech president did not specify which countries could join such an initiative, but his statement is a signal to European allies that the Czech Republic is ready to play a more active role in shaping international policy towards Ukraine.
Pavel’s proposal may be a response to the change in the US position on the war in Ukraine, especially after Zelenskyi’s recent meeting with Trump, which ended in conflict and the Ukrainian president’s early departure from Washington. Now Europe can look for its own mechanisms to support Ukraine, without relying solely on the US position.
We will remind that the Czech Republic is one of the most active supporters of aid to Ukraine among the EU countries. The Prague government not only provides military support, but also initiates the purchase of ammunition and equipment for the Ukrainian military. Now the initiative to create a new coalition may become the next step of the Czech Republic in international support of Ukraine.
