The Russian army hit a civilian bus in Sumy region: there are dead and injured

A Russian drone attacked a bus with civilians in the Sumy district. The incident happened near the village of Ivolzhanske, which is part of the Yunakiv community, informs regional military administration.

According to preliminary data, three people died, another 19 were injured and are currently under medical supervision. The condition of one woman is critical – she is being operated on. In total, there were 39 passengers in the cabin. The injured and the rest of the people were evacuated to a safe place. As noted in OVA, this bus had already come under fire earlier.

Under the procedural guidance of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office continues pre-trial investigation into the fact of a war crime that led to the death of civilians (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on July 27, 2025, at around 4:30 p.m., a Russian drone attacked a bus carrying civilians, which was heading through the territory of the Yunakiv community of the Sumy district.

As a result of the impact, three civilians were killed, and about 20 passengers were injured in various degrees of severity. Prosecutors, together with other law enforcement agencies, record the consequences of the attack. The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the SBU Office in the Sumy region.

Under the procedural leadership of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation into the fact of a war crime that resulted in the death of people is ongoing (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
