Russian troops are located at a distance of 2.5-3 kilometres from Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, and continue to strike the city with guided aerial bombs, causing significant destruction. This was announced by the head of the Kupyansk city military administration, Andriy Besedin, during a telethon.
‘The enemy is actually 2.5-3 kilometres away from Kupyansk. There is constant shelling, constant destruction of critical civilian infrastructure. Even if we talk about the right bank, the enemy is constantly striking, including with guided aerial bombs of one and a half tonnes. This is a fierce destructive force,’ Besedin said.
He also said that some institutions are still functioning on the right bank of Kupyansk, and residents are receiving utilities, but it is difficult to predict the future situation. The evacuation of residents is ongoing.
The situation in Kupiansk As a reminder, the head of the Kharkiv Military District Administration recently informed about the constant shelling of the Kupiansk community by Russian troops. As a result, 100 to 200 people are evacuated from the town every day.
In addition, according to him, Russian troops are also attacking crossings on the Oskil River, which complicates the process of evacuation from Kupiansk and neighbouring settlements.
A report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) notes that there has been some progress by the occupation forces near Kupiansk.
