The electrical voltage standard has been changed in Ukraine
According to the updated code of electricity distribution systems, the voltage standard in electrical networks is changing in Ukraine — it will no longer be 220 volts. Starting from July 1, 2025, the new standard will be 230 volts. About this it is said in the resolution of the National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the spheres of energy and communal services.
“European approaches to determining power supply quality parameters will begin to apply in Ukraine, in particular, the transition to a nominal voltage of 230/400 V. One of the key innovations is the establishment of clear limits of permissible voltage deviation: from 207 to 253 V (±10% of the nominal value of 230 V)”, – the National Commission noted.
The changes should improve the quality of electricity supply. Stable voltage will reduce the risk of damage to household appliances and reduce the need to use additional protection, in particular stabilizers. In addition, it will help increase energy efficiency: household appliances will work in optimal conditions without overloading and unnecessary energy losses.
“For distribution system operators, within seven days from the date of entry into force of this resolution, ensure that users are informed on their own websites about the change in the level of the standard nominal voltage from July 1, 2025”, – says the resolution.
