On January 2, the DeepState project reported about the advance of Russian troops in the city of Kurakhove and five other settlements in the Donetsk region.
“The enemy advanced near Vovkovo, Neskuchny, in Novoyelyzavetivka, Solony, Vozdvizhenka, Kurakhovo and its southern surroundings.” – says the message.
DeepState analysts also note the difficult situation in the village of Novovasylivka in the Pokrovsky direction. They report that the Russian troops have been conducting active assaults on the village from the south and east for the third day. The advantage of the occupiers in manpower can become a decisive factor in the attempt to capture this settlement.
The Russian army continues to move south of Pokrovsk, gradually approaching the administrative borders of the Donetsk region. At the same time, analysts note that the intensity of the offensive near Kurakhovo is gradually decreasing.
It will be recalled that ISW experts previously indicated that in the event of the capture of Kurakhovo, Russian troops may try to develop an offensive in the western direction along the route to Zaporizhzhia.
