The Russian Federation plans to hold a procession of the “immortal regiment” with the symbols of the USSR in Washington

An initiative group of citizens of the Russian Federation in Washington plans to hold a march of the “immortal regiment” on May 3, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, using Soviet symbols. This is reported by rosZMI.

The event is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. local time in Lafayette Square, a park near the White House. Then the participants have to march along Pennsylvania Avenue to the World War II Memorial in the center of the capital.

The booklet, decorated with Soviet symbols and St. George’s ribbon, states that the participants will march in a column with an orchestra, songs and portraits of their heroes. A concert is also planned near the memorial.

In order to hold such promotions in the USA, prior approval of the city authorities is required. According to Ukrinform sources, the organizers have already received the appropriate permission to hold the event. The press service of the Washington police has not yet commented on the request of journalists regarding this event.

We will remind that the actions of the “immortal regiment”, which take place in Russia and abroad, are usually held every year at the beginning of May. However, a similar march has not been held in Washington since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
