The SBI reported the suspicion to the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zakharchenko
The former high-ranking official is accused of subversive activities that harm Ukraine.

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) reported the suspicion to former Minister of Internal Affairs Vitaly Zakharchenko. An official from the time of ex-president Viktor Yanukovych in 2022 tried to induce Ukrainian officials to commit treason. This is reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General and the SBI.
“Under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the former minister of internal affairs of the time of the fugitive president was informed of the suspicion”, – says in messages Office of the Prosecutor General.
Immediately after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the suspect called Ukrainian officials with a proposal to sign a treaty with the Russian Federation on the so-called “friendship and protection”. This meant the voluntary surrender of territories to the enemy in exchange for “high positions”. Zakharchenko emphasized that he was acting on behalf of the leadership of the Russian Federation.
Further, the ex-minister participated in the creation and publication of videos and digests, the purpose of which was the formation of anti-government sentiments in society and support for subversive activities of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
“In his speeches, the former minister recognizes the legitimate armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which began in 2014, justifies it and glorifies the representatives of the armed forces of the Russian Federation”, — added the Prosecutor General’s Office.
