The SBI transferred to the state almost 7 million hryvnias seized during the investigation of extortion from the military

The State Bureau of Investigation handed over to the state more than 6.7 million hryvnias seized as part of the investigation into the facts of extortion from the military in the 110th separate mechanized brigade. About this informs DBR press office.
“At the request of the SBI investigator, the Khmelnytskyi City District Court of the Khmelnytsky Region transferred more than 6.73 million hryvnias seized during the investigation of the proceedings regarding extortion from the military in the 110th separate mechanized brigade to the National Agency for Identification, Search and Asset Management”, says the message.
At the end of December 2024, the DBR employees reported the suspicion to the deputy commander of the 110th brigade, and in January 2025 – to his accomplice, the commander of the material support group.
“According to the scheme, subordinate servicemen could actually not show up for duty, but only be listed in the unit. At the same time, they received full financial support and even combat payments for allegedly completed tasks on the front line. However, these servicemen had to hand over half of the received funds to the command.”, – the SBI notes.
1.5 million hryvnias, which he kept in a bag, were found with the deputy commander of the brigade. During the search of his home in Zaporizhzhia, almost 5 million hryvnias were seized. All these funds were transferred to ARMA. Property acquired by the suspect after the full-scale invasion began was also seized.
In total, law enforcement officers are investigating at least 50 people who may have been involved in this criminal scheme.
