The Cabinet allocated about 147 million hryvnias for the construction of fortifications in Zaporozhye

The Cabinet of Ministers decided to allocate about 147 million hryvnias for the purchase of defense materials for the construction of fortifications and the installation of anti-explosive barrier systems in the Zaporozhye region. He noted that the government has decided to strengthen fortification works in the Zaporozhye region by redistributing funds from the reserve fund of the state budget. The money, which was previously allocated to the Ministry of Defense, as well as to the Ivano-Frankivsk, Cherkasy and Mykolaiv regional military administrations, will now go to the Zaporizhia regional military administration.
These additional funds will be directed to the construction of military engineering and technical facilities, systems of non-explosive barriers and equipment of defensive lines. The purpose of this funding is to increase the defense capability of the region and ensure greater security for the military and civilians.
Earlier, in the winter of 2024, the administration of the Zaporizhia region was forced to cancel open tenders for the purchase of “dragon’s teeth” due to lack of funding. The tender for the amount of 88.5 million hryvnias provided for the purchase of 45,000 units of barrier concrete pyramids. Thanks to the new allocation of funds, the planned measures for the arrangement of defense structures can be implemented.
