The State Bureau of Investigation exposed a large-scale diesel fuel embezzlement scheme in the aviation brigade

DBR employees exposed a large-scale scheme of misappropriation of diesel fuel in the military unit of the aviation brigade, which is stationed in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

According to the investigation, the organizer of the criminal scheme was the commander of the material support company. He involved the commander of one of the platoons and the driver in illegal activities. Criminals regularly falsified official documents, writing off fuel as if it were for combat missions, in particular during air raids and aircraft takeoffs.

In fact, diesel fuel was sold in large quantities to local entrepreneurs, including owners of public transport, at a price of 40 hryvnias per liter. Law enforcement officers documented the sale of one of the lots with a volume of more than 5 tons.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Other facts of fuel theft are established and documented. All three suspects have been detained. They were charged with misappropriation of military property under martial law, perpetrated by a group of persons using their official position following a prior conspiracy (Part 4 of Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides up to 15 years of imprisonment.

Investigators are preparing a petition to the court regarding the selection of precautionary measures and the removal of the suspects from their positions. Procedural management is carried out by the Ivano-Frankivsk specialized prosecutor’s office in the field of defense of the Western region.
