The State Register began accepting applications for compensation for demining agricultural lands

This program applies to both the land owned by agricultural producers and the plots they rent.

The State Agrarian Register has started accepting applications from farmers to receive compensation for demining agricultural land. Three billion hryvnias have been allocated in the state budget for this program, which will cover 80% of the costs. The remaining 20% of costs must be covered by the farmers themselves.

Ministry of Economy of Ukraine informs, that the program applies both to land owned by agricultural producers and to plots they rent. The program can be used by farmers whose lands are located in de-occupied territories with a high probability of contamination by explosive objects.

Currently, two state-owned banks — PrivatBank and Oschadbank — participate in the program, but others will join the program over time. The farmer will need to open an account in one of these banks.

According to the Ministry of Economy, during the first half of the year, Ukrainian sappers demined and returned to use more than 156 thousand hectares of agricultural land. The highest rates of demining are observed in Kherson region — 146 thousand hectares, Kharkiv region — 11.3 thousand hectares, and Mykolaiv region — 8.3 thousand hectares.
