The suspension of military aid to Ukraine is temporary: the head of the Pentagon

The suspension of US military aid to Ukraine is temporary and is seen as a “pause pending a true commitment to the path to peace.” This was stated by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a meeting with British Defense Minister John Geely at the Pentagon on March 6. informs Voice of America.

“US President Donald Trump is watching very closely what Ukrainians are saying and doing about their commitment to this peace process, and we are very encouraged by the signs we are seeing.” Hegseth noted.

He added that the final decision will be made by Trump, but “for now this is a pause.” The minister also emphasized that Trump “was elected to bring peace to this conflict” and works with both sides in a way that is only available to him.

“We are closer to peace today than ever because of his leadership”, – emphasized Hegset.

British Defense Minister John Geely, in turn, said that Ukraine is ready to sign an agreement with the United States.

“They are ready for a cease-fire. They want guarantees and security, which we must adhere to to ensure that they do not face Russian invasion and Russian aggression again. But they, like us, are ready to work to make the most of this unique opportunity that we have now, and that is the responsibility of all of us, and that is very clear from our prime minister, that is clear from President Trump, that is clear from President Zelensky.” – said Gili.
