Karol Nawrocki wins presidential election in Poland

Karol Nawrocki won the presidential elections in Poland. The National Election Commission of Poland published the results of counting 100% of the votes, informsGazeta Wyborcza.

Karol Navrotsky, director of the Institute of National Remembrance, won 50.89% of the vote and won the second round. His opponent, Warsaw Mayor Rafal Tszaskowski, received 49.11%.

Navrotsky’s “Plan 21” program includes tax reform with a reduction in VAT, the creation of the Breakthrough Technologies Fund, the construction of the Central Communication Port, the return of homework in schools, and the introduction of free lessons before obtaining a driver’s license. He opposes mandatory vaccination, supports the ban on abortion and opposes the legalization of civil partnerships.

In May 2025, Navrotsky visited the USA, where he held a meeting with Donald Trump. The head of the White House publicly stated that Navrotsky “will definitely win” the elections. This statement caused a wide resonance in the Polish media, which dubbed Nawrocki “Trump’s candidate.”

In relation to Ukraine, Navrotsky takes a tough position, focusing primarily on historical issues, in particular on the Volyn tragedy. He repeatedly emphasized that the exhumation and commemoration of the Polish victims in Volyn is a priority for Polish-Ukrainian relations and a condition for the start of full-fledged cooperation.

Navrotskyi stated that Ukraine should not join NATO or the EU until the settlement of historical issues and recognition of responsibility for the “genocide of Poles in Volyn”.

“Today, I do not see Ukraine in any structure – neither in the European Union, nor in NATO – until such important civilizational issues for Poles are resolved. A country that cannot answer for a very brutal crime against 120 thousand of its neighbors cannot be part of international alliances.” – emphasized Karol Navrotskyi in the winter of 2025.

After the first round of the elections, he agreed to the demands of the leader of the far-right “Confederation” Slavomir Mentsen, who came in third place, in particular, to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO, in order to win the support of his voters in the second round.

During a public debate organized by Mentzen, Navrotsky signed a declaration of eight promises. Several of them related to the Ukrainian issue, among other things, the obligation not to allow the sending of Polish troops to Ukraine and not to sign the law on the ratification of its accession to NATO.

“Of course, today the discussion about Ukraine’s accession to NATO is completely groundless. Ukraine’s accession to NATO will put the entire North Atlantic Alliance in a state of war with the Russian Federation.” Navrotsky said.

Commenting on the possible dispatch of the military to Ukraine, he added that “he will send businessmen when Ukraine is restored.”
