France will provide Ukraine with 195 million euros from the interest of frozen Russian assets

France will allocate 195 million euros to Ukraine for military aid, using interest from frozen Russian assets. About this reported French Minister of Armed Forces Sebastien Lecornu in an interview with La Tribune Dimanche.

According to him, these funds will be used for the supply of 155-mm artillery shells and AASM aerial bombs, which are used on Ukrainian Mirage 2000 fighters. France will also accelerate the transfer of AMX-10RC light tanks and VAB armored personnel carriers, which were previously used by the French military.

As the publication notes, in response to growing geopolitical tensions, France, together with its allies, is strengthening its own defense potential. Lecornu outlined the key areas of development for the coming years, including ammunition, electronic warfare, unmanned technologies, artificial intelligence and space systems.

France is also increasing the production of military equipment both to support Ukraine and to strengthen its own army. The minister said that Dassault Aviation will increase the production of Rafale fighters from two per month in 2024 to four to five in 2026. In addition, the French government plans to double the production of AASM aerial bombs by 2026, and the production of Akeron MP anti-tank missiles will double already in 2025.

To implement these plans, France is expanding cooperation with defense companies Thales and EOS, specializing in military technologies.
