The United States called for an investigation into Zelensky’s visit to an ammunition factory in Pennsylvania

The chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Republican James Comer, announced the opening of an investigation into the recent visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi to a munitions plant in Pennsylvania. In his opinion, this visit could be used as an element of interference in the US elections.
In his messages in an X social media post posted on September 25, Comer said he had already sent requests to the White House, the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice to clarify the possible use of government resources by the Biden-Harris administration for its own political gain.
“If the Biden-Harris administration tried to use a foreign leader for the benefit of the vice president’s presidential campaign, this is an abuse of power and a misuse of taxpayer funds.”, – said Komer.
This statement provoked the reaction of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, who appealed to the President of Ukraine to immediately release the Ukrainian envoy to Washington, Oksana Markarov. According to Fox News Digital, it was she who organized Zelensky’s visit to Pennsylvania, which became the reason for Johnson’s call for her resignation.
Earlier, Johnson said he was unsure whether he would be able to meet with Zelenskyi during his visit to Washington due to changes in the meeting schedule. However, he emphasized that he is ready to discuss issues related to Markarova’s activities with the Ukrainian leader.
We will remind you that recently former US President Donald Trump criticized Zelenskyi during his official visit to the US, saying that if he returns to power, he will approach the policy towards Ukraine “in a completely different way”.
